Seven Prayers You Cannot Miss Praying in Your Lifetime

Here are seven (7) prayers you can’t miss praying in your lifetime.

First prayer

Prayers acknowledging sinfulness and admitting utter helplessness  (Romans 3:12 & 7:18/Matthew 5:3, nlt)

All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.”  Romans 3:12

For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.  Romans 7:18

“They are blessed who realize their spiritual poverty, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to them.   Matthew 5:3, ncv

“God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. Matthew 5:3

 

Prayers that all we need is God. (Psalm 23:1,nlt 2nd ed.)

The LORD is my shepherd; I have all that I need. Psalm 23:1

Prayers to receive eternal life (John 3:15;18/1Corinthians15:1-4)

that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. John 3:15;18

. . . . I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand.  By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. . . . . . For what I received I passed on to you . . . . that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,  that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4

Second Prayer  


Prayers of a child of God (John1:12-13/Luke 11:13)

Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God. John 1:12-13

 

 

 

 

If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” Luke 11:13

These prayers, done in faith from the heart, enables you to receive the gift, who is, the Holy Spirit.

 

 

 

Third Prayer

Prayers to receive divinely-opened eyes and a spiritual heart (Ephesians1:17, nlt)

asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God.  Ephesians 1:17


            My son, if you will receive my words And treasure my commandments within     you, Make your ear attentive to wisdom, Incline your heart to understanding;  For if you cry for discernment, Lift your voice for understanding;  If you seek her as silver And search for her as for hidden treasures;  Then you will discern the fear of the LORD And discover the knowledge of God.  For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.  Proverbs 2:1-6

      Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures.   Luke 24:45

Fourth Prayer

Prayers to receive all of God’s gifts, mighty inner strength, and a truly full life (John10:10/  Ephesians 3:14-19, nlt)

I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.  Ephesians 3:14-19

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:10

 These prayers, done in faith from the heart, enables you to receive the experience of living out the whole counsel of God.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fifth Prayer

Prayers seeking an intimate fellowship with God (Philippians 3:10, Amplified)

[For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection [which it exerts over believers], and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed [in spirit into His likeness even] to His death, [in the hope] Philippians 3:10

These prayers, done in faith from the heart, enables you to  experience God’s loving presence as never before.

 

 

 

 

Sixth Prayer

Prayers expressing pure and sheer delight in the LORD and an intense and deep love for Christ (Psalm 27:4, nlt)

The one thing I ask of the Lord— the thing I seek most— is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord’s perfections and meditating in his Temple.   Psalm 27:4

 These prayers, done in faith from the heart, enables you to default to a worship-driven lifestyle and be consumed in glorifying the LORD God Almighty.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Seventh Prayer


Prayers that I would live for Christ: given entirely to the Lord, walking only in God’s will, and following God’s Spirit in loving obedience (Galatians 2:20, Matthew 6:33-nlt, Philippians 3:8-9-nlt, Romans 14:8;12:1-2, Galatians 5:24-25-nlt)

have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.  Galatians 2:20

And he will give you all you need from day to day if you live for him and make the Kingdom of God your primary concern.  Matthew 6:33, nlt

Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.   Matthew 6:33, nlt 2nd ed.

 

 

Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ and become one with him. . . . . .   Philippians 3:8-9

If we live, it’s to honor the Lord. And if we die, it’s to honor the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.   Romans 14:8

. . . . .  in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.  Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.    Romans 12:1-2

Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.   Galatians 5:24-25
