As one of the elders at our local church, Emmanuel Church Ministries International at Makati, I was scheduled to exhort the brethren at Cavite during their commissioning as an independent local church his morning . The Lord has given me this word, and this is the substance of what its truly in my heart.
“Charge to the Leadership and Brethren of Emmanuel Church Ministries International in Cavite”
There is a call to be vigilant and exercise rights to vote in the coming elections. It is important but your strength should not be focused on that. There is a call to proactively respond to the pressure of economic instability of the times. It’s important but your mind should not be focused on that. There is a call to secure our families in safe and peaceful situations what with threats, danger and crime left, right and all around us. It is important but your heart should not be focused on that, as well.
Instead, your strength, your mind, and your heart should be set on Kingdom Agenda. Why? Because the Lord Jesus Christ is coming back soon. Perhaps, in our lifetime. Nothing else is more transforming. Nothing else opens more doors of impossibilities. Nothing else can be more fufilling than being in the center of God’s will.
I was entrusted with the privilege to charge you. You have now become a daughter church. But you know, I see that in this commissioning, it will speak more of what we share in common -our foundation in Jesus Christ.
- There may be a different combination of spiritual gifts for believers in Cavite and those in Makati, but we have the same Father in heaven who gives us such gifts.
- We may have different strategic approaches but we have the same Holy Spirit who leads us in victory.
- We may have different “oikos” lists, that have different target groups, but we are all in one with Jesus Christ, for He is Immanuel, “God with us”.
We are all, therefore, all in the Father, in Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit in us. Do you want to glorify, as a church, the Triune God without hesitation, withholding nothing, and with all that you are? At this point I want to read Matthew 28:18-20 from the Amplified Version,
20Teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you, and behold, I am with you all the days (perpetually, uniformly, and on every occasion), to the [very] close and consummation of the age. Amen (so let it be).
18Jesus approached and, breaking the silence, said to them, All authority (all power of rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.
19Go then and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
There are three things that I want to say about these verses of God to you.
Firstly, we have one mission – God’s vision
Secondly, in verses 18 and 19, Jesus’ Christ absolute and sovereign authority has empowered us as partakers of an undeniable divine success.
Third and finally, in verse 20, Jesus our Lord God says He is perpetually and on every occasion with us. Such intimacy with God brings a degree of unparalleled love to our lives.
When you fully embrace what God wants for you – to engage in the Great Commission with all your mind, with all your strength, with all your heart, with all His gifts to you, with all your resources, and with God ordained faith, Then you become, the best God wants you to be, a church who is:
- burning with holy fire
- zealous with resolute determination
- consumed in loving passion for God, and
- enthrenched in the Great Commission.
Picture this, it appears as if the words of Scripture are lifted up, unfolding, and with Cavite right there in God’s eyes walking the talk.
May God bless all your endeavors!
